What is Primary education?
Is it just crayons, comprehension, addition, and dodgeball? Not at all. There is more happening in primary school. Primary education is the most important and meaningful one because it prepares the child to face challenges, teaches basic skills, and helps with physical, mental, and emotional growth. It is the first stage of formal education and includes the age group of 6 to 11 or grades 1 to 5.
In grades 1–4, we follow a theme-based international curriculum that is truly inter-disciplinary and integrates all the concepts, leading to different levels of learning. It is not just the accumulation of knowledge but its application in real life that is emphasized at KCIS. The focus in these grades is on the development of skills, including life skills and experiential learning. The subjects taught are English, Hindi, Math, EVS, Telugu and Computers. The focus is on developing analytical and critical thinking, learning and improving communication skills, understanding basic values, and using technology.
